Bernstorffsminde Møbelfabrik was founded in 1837 in South Funen and has been run by the Sundberg family ever since. We combine our professional knowledge with our craftsmanship and the best designers to create innovative, award-winning furniture.
Our furniture is still produced in South Funen. Our craftsmen select the best materials and create the furniture in our workshop. All furniture manufacturing processes are tested and approved in our own furniture workshop. Our furniture is made with great care and attention to detail.
We believe that our innovation, quality and design creativity are the keys to creating popular designer furniture that can bring joy to our customers. We have our head office and production facility in Stenstrup, Denmark, and have established a large network of suppliers and skilled carpenters.

Bernstorffsmind's values of sustainability are also reflected in the fact that we are still a Danish manufacturing company producing furniture from European wood and American walnut. We have made a choice to focus on the local, both in terms of choice of materials and production, which we believe is an important part of sustainable development.
At Bernstorffsminde, we use green energy for production. In the creation of our furniture, the machines consume electricity. We have therefore installed solar panels on the roof of our furniture factory so that we contribute green electricity to our production.

For many years, Bernstorffsminde produced the iconic Kaare Klint church chair. Today, they still make chairs by Børge Mogensen, among others. Børge Mogensen for church interiors.
The church chair was designed by Kaare Klint in 1936 and was originally designed for Bethlehem Church. However, it is in Grundtvig's church that has contributed to the chair's iconic status.
Both Bethlehem and Grundtvig's churches were designed by renowned architect Peder Vilhelm Jensen Klint, Kaare Klint's father.
After Jensen Klint's death in 1930, Kaare Klint completed the construction of both churches.
